Thought he only gave us E=mc2?

Try not to become a man of success,
but rather try to become a man of value.

~Albert Einstein

While his hair might lead you to believe otherwise, Einstein was not simply a hair-brained scientist who asked deep probing questions of the universe and gave us the Theory of Relativity. In fact his quote speaks to a very different understanding he possessed. Success can be achieved in so many different ways depending on how you measure it. Most of these measurements are relative.

However, what is valuable to communities, to families, to relationships, share an almost universal appeal around the world. There is actually very little relativity about it. What are you doing today that is helping you to be a person of value, not just success? One small step in that direction can go a long way to leaving your legacy long beyond your time here on this wonderful planet.

Success is …

Success is not so much what we have as it is what we are.

While I like this thought, it doesn’t quite get at what I think is really important. What you have is so unimportant in measuring lasting, world-changing success. I think it might be better spoken, “Success in not so much what we do as it is who we are.” Who are you becoming? That is the ultimate question in regard to success, not what are you doing?

Don’t identify yourself by what you do. Identify yourself by who you are becoming. You are totally in control of who you want to be. That should determine what you do.

Caring Makes a Life Rich

If you care at all, you’ll get some results.
If you care enough, you’ll get incredible results.
~ Anonymous

What is it you are caring about today? If someone looked into your day planner, your bank account, your thoughts, what would you really care about? Life’s too short to waste on things that are not going to be important 5, even 10 years from now.

Let someone who should know, but who might not know, you care, in the next 20 minutes. You’ll be glad you did.

Success Does Not Come Without Risk!

The person who gets the farthest is generally
the one who is willing to do and dare.
The sure-thing boat never gets far from shore.
-Dale Carnegie

Those who sit on the sidelines sticking to the way things have always been done, get stuck as the rest of the world passes them by. Remember to be keenly aware of the changes going on around you. Getting ahead in life always involves some kind of risk, whether it be in business or relationships. Be strong and courageous!
